Primary 2/3 have been reading ‘Room on the Broom’ by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler recently. They have been using this book to inspire their own writing and have written some wonderful descriptions of witches as well as learning lots about adjectives, punctuation and rhyming words. They decided to finish off their hard work by hosting a ‘Room on the Broom’ party. They invited Primary 1 and the rest of Primary 3. At the party, P2/3 performed ‘Room and the Broom’ to their audience. Caitlin D read the story while Robert, Christy, William, Beth, Zara and Freya acted out the parts. The rest of the class provided the sound effects. They worked very hard and everyone enjoyed it.
At the party, we also played party games such as ‘Musical Brooms’ and ‘Pin the Wart on the Witch’s Nose’. The children could also make their own wand or mask. There was lots of delicious themed snacks to eat too. Everyone had a lovely time!
