Tuning up for the weekend

It’s time to dust down your fiddles, guitars and mandolins and come along to Tune for CHAS. This Saturday (27 Aug) musicians in traditional Scottish music are gathering in Kippen for a day of lively acoustic sessions in the village’s two pubs to raise funds for the local children’s hospice.

Many musicians, including fiddlers, accordionists, banjo players, pipers, guitarists, drummers and singers, from accomplished professionals to groups of friends that enjoy playing together, will take to the floor between 1 – 5pm at the Cross Keys and The Inn at Kippen.

Come along for a fun family afternoon, join in or just enjoy the music. Entry to the event is free. There will be collections for CHAS on the day. If you are keen to reserve an acoustic session at ‘Tune for Chas’, contact Angela MacEachern on 01786 870803.

There is also a raffle for Strathcarron Hospice with over 20 prizes including an Ipod Touch, £250 and an exclusive handbag from Woodlane. Angie and Shiona will be selling tickets at the school gates over the next few days. £1 each or £5 for a book.
