A warm welcome to a new academic year. The children are resplendant in their uniforms – thank you for supporting our uniform policy. Our new ‘senior pupils’ are proud of their blue sweatshirts and senior status and our P1 entrants settled into their new environment and enjoyed a happy and busy first day.
As we start the new term here are some key points of information you should know:
Staff
Congratulations to Miss Lai who was married in August. Her married name is Mrs. Ryan. She will be supporting P1 this session.
Absence
Miss Paterson has broken her arm and is currently on sick leave. Over the next few weeks Mrs. Logan will teach P5/6 and then undertake a support role working with Miss Paterson on her return.
Specialists
Art: Mondays 9am – 12.15– Mrs. Mary Hamilton – alternate weeks
PE: Tuesdays 9am – 3.15pm– Miss Amanda McKie – alternate weeks
Music: Thursdays 9am – 11.45am – Miss Moor – alternate weeks
Children should have their PE kit i.e. Shorts, T shirt and Plimsoles in school at all times.
For art it would be helpful if your child had a long sleeved apron or old shirt cut to fit to the wrists.
Please ensure all belongings and items of clothing are labelled.
Lost Property
Please note we have a lost property area just inside the main front door. Please check here if something goes missing.
Drinking bottles
We encourage regular drinking of water. Children are encouraged to bring a filled, named water bottle to school in the morning. This can be replenished from the water fountain throughout the day and taken home for washing at night.
Something to discuss?
Please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs. Watson in the office (her hours are 9am – 3pm) if you require an appointment with any member of staff.
Staff are happy to meet with you after school on a mutually convenient day.
Please indicate if you require to have an emergency appointment in which case you will be able to meet with or talk with a member of staff on the same day.

Medically Prescribed Diet
If your child has a Medically Prescribed Diet please request a ‘Medically Prescribed Diet Referral Form’ at the School Office as soon as possible.
It is imperative that one of these forms is completed for a special diet as Catering Services cannot legally provide this service without one. It must be signed by the Parent/Carer of the child and the medical practitioner who has diagnosed the need for the special diet, and also be accompanied by any diet sheet prescribed, because a pupil was on special diets last year he/she will not automatically be provided the same diet unless a new form is filled in.
