On Monday the 18th June Kippen had their Olympic Sports Day! We were very lucky that the sun was in the sky but unfortunately the new sports field was wet so we did it in the school grounds. We started with an opening ceremony that had lots of singing and lots of dancing, as well as Primary 4 playing the Samba drums, an Olympic poem and to finish off the Olympic oath.
Before the games started Miss Nicol did a Zumba warm up. Then we got into our teams, they were the Olympic ring colours A and B. We all had a great time and it was good because we had different sports this time, all based on the Olympics. Then we had races, split into boys and girls from each year group. It was very competitive. After enjoying juice and crisps provided by the parent council, we celebrated with a medal ceremony, awarding Bronze, Silver and Gold medals on a podium. The team event Gold medal was won by Black A, with Black B winning the silver medal and Green A winning the Bronze. We all had a fun time and it good to see so many spectators and happy smiles. Thank you to everyone who put so much effort in to making it such a good event.
