Chess Tournament

On Friday the 22nd May, 18 pupils from Primary 5,6 and 7 went to a chess tournament that took place in Callander’s McLaren High School. In the tournament there were five rounds and the people with the most  points got to the finals. The staff made two groups, Primary 5 and Primary 6/7. The people who came fourth got an invitation to the chess finals on 7th June in Motherwell and first, second and third place got a trophy and an invitation to the finals.

Kippen pupil James came in second place in the P6/7 chess tournament and got to play against a boy who plays for Scotland. Well done James. Gregor, Thomas, Euan and Oliver received an invite to the finals.

In the end everyone was happy and honoured to be invited to the chess tournament.
