Rag Bag Clothing and Shoes Recycling Station

Thanks to Miss Alexander and the Eco Team, we have had a new Rag Bag Clothing and Shoes Recycling Station delivered. It is located outside the school to the right hand side of the car park, outside the bottom playground.

We hope that having an outdoor facility will make it easier for more residents of Kippen to join us in recycling clothing and textiles, as we had heard that community members wanted easier access to the existing indoor facilities that we had.

By using our Rag Bag,  you are able to help recycle textiles and clothing that may have ended up going to landfill. It is estimated that approximately 1.75 million tonnes of clothing waste is produced in the UK every year, with around 1.2 million tonnes being sent unnecessarily to landfill.

Senior pupils from the Eco Group watched the delivery of our outdoor collection point on Tuesday 6th February. It was interesting to watch the driver control the crane by using a remote control pad.

Please support our school to reduce waste to landfill and to fundraise by using the collection point to recycle the following items:

  •  Wearable Clothing
  •  Paired Shoes
  •  Handbags
  •  Belts
