We celebrated Number Day by Dressing up for Digits as part of the NSPCC’s fundraising campaign. We wore onesies and a range of clothes with digits and maths symbols on them.
In order to make maths meaningful, we were very fortunate to have 2 sessions of volunteers coming in to talk about how they use maths in their work. We had a wide range of occupations represented, including a maths teacher, farmer, midwife, firefighter, pilot, doctor, and analysts.
The pupils enjoyed listening to the different ways in which maths is used in these jobs. Many thanks to Mrs McEwen, Mrs Dymott, Mrs Anderson, Mrs Fielden, Mrs MacKinnon, Mr Shanks, Mrs Shanks and Mr Aldous.
Thank you to everyone involved for supporting number day.
