Kippen Primary School have achieved the Silver Award of the sportscotland School Sport Awards. The sportscotland School Sport Award is a national initiative designed to encourage schools to continuously improve the quality and quantity of physical education and school sport opportunities, within and outwith the curriculum and strengthen sporting links between the school and the communities around them.
Many thanks to all our pupils, parents and staff who have contributed to this achievement by participating in and organising the various sporting opportunities on offer at Kippen Primary. This year, as well as pupil participation in curriculum PE, we have been involved in golf, lacrosse, gymnastics, cross country, swimming, netball, table tennis, tennis and rugby, with track and field, skiing sessions and the football & netball league and tournament still to come. Balfron High pupils have led lunch clubs and tennis tasters, parent volunteers are involved in running Fundamentals and running clubs, parents support netball sessions, parents ran lacrosse practices and Stirling University students ran a lacrosse club. In addition Active Stirling staff support a variety of sports by offering taster sessions and organise a range of sporting events for the Balfron Learning Community and schools across Stirling.
Many thanks to the parent volunteers who have run clubs and supported sport in the school:
Mr MacPhee and Mr Shanks (P2 Fundamentals multi-sport), Mrs Schmautz (running), Mrs Reilly (running and lacrosse), Mrs Hadley-Stove (netball).
Thank you also to Neil Thomson, Active Schools Co-ordinator (Balfron) for his support. Neil is always looking for willing volunteers so if you would be interested in supporting sport in Kippen Primary then please let us know.
Apologies if we have missed out any contributions from volunteers or sports events – let us know and we will rectify this.
